Last revised 8-1-2009

The following feedback was received from previous occupants of the apartments.  If you wish to take up any of the people below as references, contact details can be supplied.
Hi William,

We were so impressed with the standards and comfort of the apartment, and of course the unique setting.

I had a look over your photo gallery and I wonder if you would like to add another which I am attaching.  Monte Rosa is well named in this one.

As for immediate feedback we have nothing to complain about at all, the apartment suited our family needs perfectly and we felt very comfortable.

Thanks again William for your fine apartment, and very best wishes to you and your family for 2009.

Thank You, it was great to be able to extend our stay. Yes we had a wonderful time, hence there was no need to leave Orta, such a beautiful place..

The apartment was perfect, very centrally located, couldn't ask for better. As for Orta - WOW ... we used all your eating suggestions all of which were delicious, over our stay we had nothing but great food and drink and lovely walks, thank you for providing great user friendly information.

Dear William,

We really enjoyed our stay at Lake Orta. The snow was something special and we are used to snow. The views were even more beautiful with snow.

We enjoyed the holiday enormously.  The apartment was great and the area beautiful in the snow.  Skiiing area at Mottarone was fantastic too - Thursday up there was particularly great with sunshine all day long!

I would love to return sometime but it will depend a bit on our plans. Do you normally have snow there, as that really made it?

Dear William

We are sorely missing the peace, tranquillity and, most of all, the view from Villa Gelsomina. Like the family from Stratford below, whom we much enjoyed meeting, we too had had a great preceding week in Italy on and around Lake Como, but were totally and utterly charmed by all Orta has to offer. Thank you.

We had a fabulous time and thought the entire area was enchanting. We were very lucky with the weather and only had a couple of hours of daytime rain during the whole 12 days, for the rest it was sunshine. We did all the walks on your guide and were particularly impressed with the "Three Mountains". We loved the Little town of Orta and thought the Pomodoro sculptures were stunning.

Edoardo at the shop was very friendly and helpful and even gave us an invite to the Vivaldi concert in the local chapel. This was one of the highlights of the holiday, the atmosphere of the very old chapel and the candlelight approach combined with a superb performance by a professional orchestra made for a magical evening.

The location and views from the apartment exceeded our expectations. In conclusion we all had a marvellous and relaxing holiday, the walks, the scenery, the restaurants, the local atmosphere, the location and views all combined to make this a very memorable time. We will certainly consider using your holiday homes again next year.

Dear William

We have arrived safely back in the UK after a simply wonderful holiday in Italy. We spent our first week at Lake Garda which we thought was absolutely beautiful, albeit very busy, didn't think anything could possibly 'top' it or the location of the apartment we had on the Western shore. How wrong were we!!!

Lake Orta is now on our Number One hit list of places we will return to again and again. Not only is Villa Gelsomina in a perfect spot with the most picturesque outlook we have ever seen in the world - and we are widely travelled, but the Lake and surrounding towns and countryside are just wonderful. Every morning (thanks to the perfect weather) we had an early morning coffee on the patio watching Monte Rosa come into view as the sun rose behind the villa. That view will certainly see me through the long bleak UK winter months as we have taken numerous photos which I will be looking at time and time again.

You have thought of everything as far as the apartments are concerned and the information pack provided for walks (we managed two) and restaurants - everytime we ate out we tried one of your recommendations and were not disappointed - were of great help.

Our two children particularly enjoyed the pool - we went out and did something during the day but generally were back around 4 p.m. and it was just nice then to take a dip and refresh ourselves. They made friends with the other children staying at the apartments and that was really nice for them.

William, we will certainly recommend your holiday homes (as I am sure they are all of the same high standard) at Lake Orta to our family and friends (reluctantly obviously, as we want to keep it our little secret, however once they see the photos the secret will be out!!) and very much look forward to being able to return to stay at Villa Gelsomina some time in the near future.

Once again many thanks for making our first holiday to the Italian Lakes such an enjoyable and unforgettable experience.

Kind Regards,

We had a lovely time in Pella - highly suitable for the car-free, particularly if they don't mind walking. The best beach is about 35 minutes walk. Very straightforward and wonderfully scenic [rail] journey via Paris and Geneva (total train time 9 and a half hours each way). Easy getting a taxi from Arona.

Moreno, the motoscafi driver, rented rowing boats and also provided taxis via a friend of his. Walks out of the house were lovely, although changes in the roads meant that not all paths and roads marked on the map were still extant. Your no.4 walk was fabulous. There is a beautiful pilgrim's walk up to Madonna del Sasso from San Maurizio. I am sure there is a way to get to this path from Pella Alzo but I didn't manage to find it and ended up going a long way round to the start which is off the road to the industrial zone.

The flat was terrific and our only slight problem was lack of spare keys, as we wanted to do different things at different times. The bar by the house is very friendly and pleasant, delicious prosecco, and sells cakes for breakfast from 7.00ish. Food from the shop on the left in via Roma was perfect and everything we needed was there.

We had a lovely week in Ciao Sole (D) it's a lovely house a wonderful area, so I'm sure we will come back again soon. :-)

It was okay to bring a handicapped as Morten in that appartment. It's not possible many places. He enjoyed the stay and the pool was very good to enter him in. The stairs were perfect.

It has been a pleasure to cooperate with you, we have the whole time felt that everthing was well organized and you quick reply on the mail gives us a good feeling about the renting.

Thanks, great hol. The fireflies were in the wood on the last night as we came home from Circolo. Was a delightful finishing touch. Weather went from 11 degrees to 34 in one week which was interesting. Accomodation was lovely and don't think your care and attention to detail goes unnoticed; it made the holiday.

We did have a wonderful stay at Paradiso. The weather held out for most of the time, and on the last morning we were able to see the Swiss Alps! Just magic. It’s a beautiful apartment and served us well.

Many thanks William for a fantastic stay on Lake Orta, the apartment was fantastic and we were overwhelmed by the view, it was amazing. We had planned on eating out a lot more than we did, but with a view so lovely and the weather better than forecast we ate on the terrace several nights.

We thought the apartment was fantastic – everything you could wish for and it was nice to have such a well equipped kitchen, and the English plug was great for the ipod!

The information pack was great to have for the walks and dinner recommendations - we had a lovely dinner at Olina in Orta and also the local restaurant down the road – very friendly and great food at both.

Once again, many thanks - we will definitely go back to Orta one day as there was so much to do and a week wasn’t long enough, and we will definitely stay at Villa Gelsomina again and recommend it to friends and family.

Last Wednesday we came home from Villa Gelsomina, app. Paradiso. We would let you know that we enjoyed a fantastic holiday at Lake Orta, we had a great time and had beautiful weather. We did a few of your recomended walks, we went to Macugnaca, Milano, Stresa and Mottarone. The appartment Paradiso is very nice and we enjoyed several dinners and breakfasts at the balcony with the excellent view at the Mont Rosa. We all want to thank you for everything, we will recommend Villa Gelsomina to our Dutch friends and maybe we once come back.

Thank you everyone at Gelsomina... we had a wonderful time!  The villas are amazing, the views breathtaking, and the weather topped it all off! White water rafting at Valsesia was our favourite activity, but there's loads to do around Lago d'Orta too!  The stay has been fab, with everything we needed provided for us!  All of us are grateful!

The time at Lake Orta was very nice but too short. The apartment was very comfortably and everyone liked it. So, I think it was not the last time at Lake Orta. Thank you once more for the easy handling.
