December 2017  We've updated the train times from Malpensa on the Getting There page, this now includes stops for both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.  This train journey takes just 2 hours, with 2 straightforward connections at Busto Arsizio Nord and Novara.  But unfortunately the new Trenitalia timetable shows no trains on a Sunday between Novara and Orta-Miasino -  a shockingly retrograde step for an area keen to develop sustainable tourism.

November 2017  As you will read below, this year we have given up 4 apartments, to reduce our workload and allow us to concentrate on the ever popular Villa Gelsomina.

November 2017  We are no longer managing the bookings for Casa Bartula.  If you wish to book this apartment please send an email enquiry, which I will then forward to Matteo, the new bookings manager.

November 2017  We no longer rent Giove and Venere, the owners are now looking to sell or rent longer term (contact me if either of those is of interest).  We know many of you loved Giove and Venere, which we were able to offer for 8 seasons.  But if you have been hunting for these apartments, what we would say to you is that there is life outside Orta San Giulio:  staying in villages above the lake you have more peace and tranquillity, and you will get to see more of this wonderful area with you car parked much more conveniently to where you are staying.  And you can visit your favourite bars and restaurants in Orta San Giulio whenever you want, from Pella you are just a boat ride away, and from Villa Gelsomina you are just 5 minutes by car.

August 2017  The Lagerstroemia Dynamite (aka Crepe Myrtle) in the front garden of Villa Gelsomina which we planted 3 years ago have flowered for the first time, and they are stunning!  Photos courtesy of Jason Chapman.

March 2017  The Malpensa Express has now been extended to Terminal 2!  This means that when you arrive with Easyjet you can go straight to the train station!  Details of the train route (which needs 2 changes) to Lake Orta are on the Getting There page.

February 2017  FlyBe has announced a new flight from Southend (SEN) to Malpensa (MXP), they are unfortunately evening flights and only five days (M, Tu, Th, Fr, Su) but this does add to the wide range of flights to Lake Orta from the UK and will be of particular interest for those in East Anglia.

February 2017  After 17 very successful seasons, we no longer offer Casa Miralago following the sale of the apartment.

January 2017  A new trenino (road train) tourist service started running from Pella up to the Madonna del Sasso at the end of the 2016 season!  See the Trenino di Pella website at treninodipella.jimdo.com and see the Trenino di Pella on facebook for the latest info.
